What curriculum do we use?
The Beginnings curriculum was developed by our founder who has a Doctoral Degree in Education. The curriculum is phonics based, and “hands-on” with a strong literacy component that stresses reading readiness and the development of pre-writing skills. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses science, math concepts, social studies, art, music, and language arts .We believe children learn in different ways and on different levels. Therefore, we teach the individual child and the whole child: socially, emotionally, academically, physically, and spiritually.
How long do our teachers stay with us?
We tend to keep our teachers for an average of five years, with some teachers being with us over twenty years. We ask our teachers to commit for an entire school year and it is very rare for a teacher to leave our program mid-year.
What about security?
There is a security pad that opens the front door to specific codes. Each family has their own code and when they leave the program their code is removed from the system. Parents may authorize certain people to pick up their child. This is done in writing and children are only released to people on that list after showing a photo I.D. Children are only released to people authorized in writing by the child’s parent or guardian.

Beginnings has an intercom system throughout the school for the classrooms to communicate needs with the front office. Our property is enclosed by six foot fencing with security locks on all of the exterior gates.

What about meals?
The school provides nutritious morning and afternoon snacks each day.
Children may bring their breakfast if they arrive before 7:15 a.m..
A child’s parent provides his/her lunch.
We provide refrigeration for cold lunch items.
We do not heat children’s food.
What are our days and hours of operation?
Beginnings is a year round program. We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are closed on seven and a half major holidays each year.
May I drop my child off and pick them up anytime?
We have an open door policy at Beginnings. This means children may arrive anytime after 6:30 a.m. and may stay until 6:00 p.m. Parents drop their child off directly in their classroom and pick them up from the classroom. Children must be “signed in” and “signed out” daily.
Do you offer part-time?
Our tuition is based on a full time enrollment. Parents are free to use any days they need and pick-up and drop-off any time. Many of our families use us part-time and pay the full tuition. They choose to do so because of the quality of our program. Only the three hour VPK children are part-time.
Do we take Family Central vouchers?
We do not accept vouchers from Family Central.
We do accept the VPK subsidy only.
How do parents pay?
Tuition is paid on Mondays for the week we are in.
You may pay ahead, bi-weekly, monthly or more.
We accept checks and cash.
